Interview with Pol of Mundo Nomada

Pol, please give my readers a background about yourself. What made you want to start mundo-nomada.com?
My name is Pol, I'm from Barcelona and currently living in Bangkok. I went to India 4 years ago when I was 22 and I loved it. After that I came back, I worked for 2 years and I flew to New Zealand. After being 3 months over there I went into a year trip around Asia that ended up in Bangkok :) Then I decided to start Mundo-nomada.com

In all of your travels, in your opinion what country has the best food? and the worst food?
I found the best food in India, China and Thailand and the worst in England. Catalan and Spanish food is also great! Check out some of the best Thai dishes at: Cocinatailandesa.

When you first started traveling, did your family support your decision?
Yes they did.

Did you always have a love of travel or did you develop your passion for traveling as you got older?
My mother loved to travel so I got the passion from her. My first trip outside Europe was when I was 20. I went for a month to Morocco with 2 friends. That trip opened my eyes to the world.

What impact has Mundo-nomada.com had on your life?
A lot of work! hehe I've been just a year publishing in Mundo-nomada.com and so far I met several interesting people thanks to my blog. That's probably the best I got from it.

What has been the least exciting destination you've traveled to?
I hate Indian huge cities!

What has been the most surprising destination you've been to? Meaning, you had a specific mindset about a certain destination but it was totally a differnet experience than you had imagined.
Probably Nepal. I've done the Annapurnas Circuit Trek twice because I just fell in love with it. Amazing. I talked about it with video included at trekking de los annapurnas

If you had to decide which destination has been the most influential in your life, which destination would you chose?
Morocco because as I said it was like opening a window to the world. What a different and interesting culture!

Pol, if you could travel with any celebrity for one week, who would you chose and why?
I'm happy traveling enough with my friends whenever I have the chance.

What advice would you give to a newbie traveler?
Atrevete! Travel by yourself in a very different culture is something that deserves to overcome the little fears that every new traveler have. You'll feel great. Start with an easy country to travel in like Thailand. Here you'll find all the information you need: Viajar a Tailandia. You can start looking for your hostel in Bangkok en Hostales de Bangkok.

In 10 years, do you see yourself still traveling or slowing down?
In 10, 20 and 30 years hopefully traveling more than I do now.

Thanks Pol for the interview! Please visit his blog @ mundo-nomada.com
